1962, Zen for head by Nam June Paik

In chapter 2, Michael Rush mentions an artist, Nam June Paik used video media as an extension of his artistic practice (87). And one the works that stood out to me was “Zen for Head” in 1962. Slowly dragging himself across a sheet of paper while dipping his hands and head in a ink and tomato juice concoction (89). This performance was interpretation of an another artist La Monte Young score piece quoted“draw a straight line and follow it”. It seemed like would have been a very powerful experience.

DTC 355: Timelapse project

"Why the F**k I'm Up" "for this projected I took a shit ton of photos for about 6 months now. And I did not know what I wanted to do with them. Anyway, I took slices of each photo that was taken at an ungodly hour. And rearranged them into a new view of my car window. And I will say I was not driving when I produced these photos. It pays off sometimes to be early. But I rather be sleeping."

DTC 355: Project 2 "COVID-19" propaganda poster

I decided to do this theme because that is what I’m constantly hearing all day for the past weeks. So why not make some art of this situation. The poster colors China flags withing the spray is where it was started. And I changed the mask into a dis-morphed United states flag. Using a very generic Asian face from the internet because people are freaking about or reacting in racial profiling manor. And calling this virus what is and that is a racist virus. And I chose to use a disinfecting spray because people are buying large amounts of this. And it also references to how some Americans view Asian people as zombies, pests, or the cause of reason for the spread of this virus. Which is far from the truth.

Response: New Media in Art : CH4 "The Digital Art" 180-199

A German artist by the name of Andreas Gursky photo manipulated laborers to make seem that were over thousands of workers in one building. And the photograph makes you think about where all materialistic phones, clothing, tablets things. I think we all know it comes from but what we do not like to think about is the amount of labor and conditions of the environment.
