Response: New Media in Art Ch4 200-222

In this section of chapter four Michael Rush speaks briefly about the internet although vast and global not yet affordable for everyone (222). As artists find new ways to distribute their artwork online. The book discusses various websites that artist constructed another piece of artwork for hosting their work. Similarly, museums seem obsolete because now artist have a way commissioning their work cutting out the middle man. And there no rules of how obscenity are pushed. Which good and bad for viewers and artist.

Response: New Media in Art : CH4 "The Digital Art" 180-199

A German artist by the name of Andreas Gursky photo manipulated laborers to make seem that were over thousands of workers in one building. And the photograph makes you think about where all materialistic phones, clothing, tablets things. I think we all know it comes from but what we do not like to think about is the amount of labor and conditions of the environment.

Response to Hard Cash: A History of Artists Using Money as a Metaphor BY ANDREW RUSSETH

K Foundation's performance  K Foundation Burn a Million Quid , Aug. 23, 1995 Andrew Ruesseth mentions a couple artist including Andy Warhol, and the infamous banana on the wall piece of art. And how much is art worth? A comment on society's values of high art which raises the question of what makes using money in art wrong. Burning it to make a statement that we put so much value in a piece a paper that all it is a piece of paper. Or using precious gemstones that valued high rate already why make a ridiculous medium out of it. Because why not that how most people live their lives thinking about money. Either you have a lot of it or live paycheck to paycheck. And if you live middle class all you do is hope you live to move up or down.

Alex Losey Sock Game Kills propaganda poster (extra)

So this was just a fun extra poster that was Alex Losey and I came up with because comparing each other's socks one day. And it would be out of the box type propaganda. So the route I took to make sense of this was using false facts. And the aesthetic was from the old 1944 poster during the WW2.

DTC 355: Project 2 "COVID-19" propaganda poster

I decided to do this theme because that is what I’m constantly hearing all day for the past weeks. So why not make some art of this situation. The poster colors China flags withing the spray is where it was started. And I changed the mask into a dis-morphed United states flag. Using a very generic Asian face from the internet because people are freaking about or reacting in racial profiling manor. And calling this virus what is and that is a racist virus. And I chose to use a disinfecting spray because people are buying large amounts of this. And it also references to how some Americans view Asian people as zombies, pests, or the cause of reason for the spread of this virus. Which is far from the truth.

art online

If anyone is interested in visiting an art museum but can not like me. Artnet.com has found some art exhibits and artists that can be seen and heard online through artist website, Ubuweb, Vimeo, Rhizome, Youtube there is one more but I dare not say where it is (begins with a "p" ends with "ornhub"). Weird time for artist to show their life's work or any sorta opening. It is one of those times where the internet does come in handy and not entirely a distraction.
